Some people think healing is about bandages and time.
But what they don’t tell you is:
Healing can feel like rage.
Like mourning your independence.
It’s like laughing at dark thoughts because it’s better than crying — again.
They don’t tell you that healing is lonely, that even with love around you, you can still feel like you’re floating in a world no one else understands. That getting dressed, just taking a walk, or navigating a crowd can feel like climbing a mountain!
They don’t tell you how loud silence can be when the world moves on and you’re still figuring out how to exist again.
But here’s the part I’ve learned:
Healing is also learning your strength in ways you never imagined.
It’s finding freedom in small wins — getting up the stairs, showing up to socialise, putting on an outfit that makes you feel like you – or, the new you at least!
It’s learning that asking for help doesn’t make you weak — it makes you wise.
It’s turning pain into power, slowly and stubbornly.
I used to think healing meant “getting back to normal.”
Now I know — it’s creating a new normal, one that’s bolder, louder, more honest.
And I’m still healing. Every day.
If you are too, keep going!
